TELEHEALTH
Telehealth
The Doctors who consult from Station Street Clinic would prefer to see patients face to face, however with the introduction of telehealth during the COVID pandemic we understand that the convenience telehealth offers, is appealing to some patients. Even though funding from the Victorian Government for Telehealth has long ceased, we do still offer it as a service for certain conditions.
Am I eligible for telehealth & what are the fees?
Telephone consultations are privately billed and can only be provided for those patients who have had a face-to-face visit at this surgery, in the last 12 months.
Telephone consultations will only be bulk billed for pensioners/Healthcare card holders, for children 5 and under, and in some cases for very brief consultations.
For all other patients telephone consultations during business hours will attract a fee of $92.00 with a Medicare rebate of $42.85 for a standard consultation. Please expect a phone call from one of our admin team following the completion of you telephone consultation with the Doctor.
Telehealth is not available to new patients.
Which conditions can I book a Telehealth consultation for?
Some of the common health issues the doctors can help with over a telehealth consultation are;
-
Repeat pathology investigations
-
Repeat referrals
-
Repeat prescriptions
-
Telehealth medical certificates
-
Discussing results from the previous pathology
It is recommended that a face to face consultation is booked for all other health concerns.
